Dyeing with Locally Foraged Natural Dyestuffs ~ July 31st

Calling all goblins, gremlins, forest sprites, and bog witches. If you have ever picked up a plant on a walk and asked yourself "Can I dye with this?", this class is for you! This class is perfect for dyeing novices, no experience necessary.

In this class you will learn: How to identify at least three different locally foraged natural dyestuffs (more if Kasteyl can harvest enough between now and then), best foraging practices, how to use natural dye mordants, how to create the best dyebatch, preparing yarn for a natural dyebath, an how to finish your yarn. Each student will leave with at least 3 x 25g samples of wool yarn (pickup at the mill the following week).

This class will be happening in the dyehouse portion of the mill. Masks are not required but highly encouraged.
