Raised in Prineville, Oregon in the heart of the PNW's historic sheep country. This fleece was one of the first we processed in our mill. We experimented with it, and because of that I would consider this a medium grade roving. The fleece was very fine but testing our processes resulted in a small amount of neps and a larger variaty of staple lengths than you will see out of our other Romeldale. Also known as California Variegated Mutant, this is an American breed developed by crossing Romney with Rambouillet at the turn of the 20th century. This roving is soft and still delightfully sheepy.
